Don't believe your friends when they ask you to be honest with them. All they really want is to be maintained in the good opinion they have of themselves.

I find great fault in and opposition to this "quote of the day." First of all, it's addressing the topic of honesty beginning with the phrase, "Don't believe..." Second of all, "When you assume, you only make an ass- out of -u- and -me."
that is your opinion.
To be honest that "assume saying is one of my least favorite"
